  • 13 pumpkin

Are you someone who wants a brief career in pumpkin sales but doesn’t know how to start?  We can team you up with a veteran pumpkin sales volunteer.  The work is not hard and provides an opportunity to interact with the congregation and the local community.  We plan to sell baked goods again this year and we need volunteers to provide pumpkin bread or cookies.

This is our 16th year to sponsor a Pumpkin Patch. All proceeds support LUMC missions near and far.  Join in the fun and help with missions at the same time. We need everyone’s help in order to make this effort a success.  Questions?  Contact either Robert King (robertking13@cox.net or 640-0999) or Faye Pyles (faye.pyles36@gmail.com)

Thanks in advance for your continued support of this mission of LUMC.

PUMPKINS ARE COMING, SO ARE THE LOVERS OF SWEET, BAKED GOODS.  The Mission team is once again coordinating a bake sale to accompany the sale of pumpkins.  All seasonal items are fine, the only requirement is to remember that we do not have refrigeration at the patch.  Individually wrapped items, and bags of goodies are great.  Varying size loaves of the old standards, pumpkin bread, banana and carrot are also very popular. We have two ways to sign up, we have a hard copy sign up sheet on the sign up board and we have a web based, http://signup.com/go/stSnMCf, as well.  Unlike the sale of the pumpkins, bake sale profits are directed to local Mission Committee activities. This activity is one of the major ways this valuable committee obtains funding.

Any questions can be directed to members of the Mission committee.

  • 8:45 a.m. – Worship Service

Our “early” service is a mildly abbreviated form of our 11:00 worship, but contains all the traditional elements of worship, with prayers, praise and singing.  This service is held in our newly consecrated Gwinn Chapel, located on Larchmont Crescent.

    9:45 a.m. – Emergent Worship Service

This service, held in the newly renovated Fellowship Hall, is Post-Contemporary and modern in musical style.  It brings together secular culture and the sacred to provide a vibrant, ever-changing, and always contextually relevant experience.  Be prepared to move.  All ages are welcome.

    11:00 a.m. – Worship Service

This traditional service features traditional liturgy, a message, and the music of our chancel choir and organ.

Communion is offered one Sunday a month.  The Lord’s Table is open to any and all; membership in the church is NOT required to receive communion.
