| Worship is at the core of our life as a congregation. If you are looking for a church home, or just visiting or area, you are welcome. |
8:45 a.m. - Worship Service Our "early" service is a mildly abbreviated form of our 11:00 worship, but contains all the traditional elements of worship, with prayers, praise and singing. This service is held in our newly consecrated Gwinn Chapel, located on Larchmont Crescent. 11:00 a.m. - Worship Service This traditional service features traditional liturgy, a message, and the music of our chancel choir and organ. Communion is offered one Sunday a month. The Lord's Table is open to any and all; membership in the church is NOT required to receive communion. |

Children of any age are welcome at any service. During the 11:00 a.m. service, LUMC offers a supervised infant and toddler program during worship. Additionally, after the first hymns at the 11:00 a.m. service, and following a childrens' message, parents may opt to allow their pre-K children to leave the sanctuary to attend a structured Children's Church for the remainder of the service. |

The Music Ministry at Larchmont is one of the most active and respected of any in Hampton Roads.
The Chancel Choir provides worship leadership at the 11:00 service every Sunday year round, and offers two major music events annually; a Lessons a Carols service during the Advent Season, and a major work in the spring, both accompanied by members of The Virginia Symphony. In 2008 the choir performed Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Lord Nelson Mass”, and in 2009 offered Mozart’s powerful “Requiem”. Although we sing some advanced music, we have members of literally all musical abilities, from beginner to professional, and everyone is invited to come and sing with us!
The Larchmont Ringers are comprised of a group of outstanding ringers who ring in church on a regular basis, adding color and excitement to the worship. Some music reading ability is helpful, and the group performs on a 3 Octave set of Malmark bells, with 2 octaves of Malmark Handchimes.
The Cherub Choir is open to children from ages 5 through the 2 grade, and sing in worship once monthly, and at special seasons. They are taught the basics of singing, as well as the basics of having fun singing!
The Junior Choir also sings once per month, and is open to children from grades 3-6. Each spring this group presents a Christian based Musical, and in 2009 performed “Nic at Night”, the story of Nicodemus.
All choirs are open to anyone! Anyone can sing! Come join us! |
