Dr. Vicky Seiler, originally from Wisconsin, grew up in Florida and has been a part of the United Methodist Church most of her life. Vicky earned her B.A. degree from Florida Southern College, her M.B.A. from Cleveland State University, and her Ph.D. from The University of Western Sydney, in Sydney, Australia. While Vicky’s background and experience is in teaching at the University level, including as a professor of marketing at Hawaii Pacific University, a researcher at Johns Hopkins University, Director of the Adult Studies Program at Virginia Wesleyan University, as well as over 40 published works, Vicky has also wrestled with a call to ministry for many years. In 2017, she decided to pursue her calling by becoming the Director of Family Ministries at LUMC, using her background and experience in education to serve the church.
Vicky loves people of all ages and is a natural fit for her role at LUMC. She loves organizing events for children, youth, and adults, which enrich their spirituality. Her knowledge of education and familiarity with the United Methodist Church give her insight into the small group studies, Sunday school program, Vacation Bible School, and other curriculum-based areas of the church’s ministry. She also has a passion for youth ministry, which comes from her own experiences growing up in a United Methodist youth group.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, which includes her fiancé and two sons, playing sports, going to the beach, bike riding, cooking, watching movies, traveling all over the world, and attending Old Dominion basketball and football games. As a native of Wisconsin, Vicky is also a passionate Green Bay Packers fan.
