Ongoing Service Opportunities

• Heavenly Grounds Host

  Heavenly Grounds hosts come in prior to our 8:35LIVE Service, make coffee, provide breakfast snacks/sweets, and serve as informal greeters. They clean up afterward.  No training required! To volunteer for a Sunday, contact Liz Smith (exsmith@odu.edu or 757-489-4149). 

• Worship Leaders 

  Click here to schedule a date.   The Worship Leader recites the Call to Worship, Invocation, Creed, Offering Prayer, along with giving/receiving offering plates, and, on First Sundays, assisting with communion.  Not to worry.  Pastor Fran provides a detailed script and instructions!  Questions?  Contact our Lay leader, Audra Mitchell (mitcheam@evms.edu or 757-679-8480)

• Media and Sound Techs.  

  These folks work the cameras and sound used to provide our 8:35LIVE and 10:30 worship services on-line.  The equipment is easy to use.  Instruction will be provided free-of-charge!  For 8:35LIVE, contact Meredith Lesley (meredithguinn@gmail.com or 757-765-6241).  For the 10:30 Service contact Jeff Paiste (paisteja@gmail.com or 757-489-8077)

• Engagement Tech.

  These folks man the computer during services and serve as an on-line greeter, welcoming folks participating in our services on-line.  All it takes is a welcoming personality!  To sign up or for more information, contact Mike Crockett (mike.crockett@yahoo.com or 757-630-0652).

• Ushers for our 10:30 Traditional Service

  Our users provide the first face folks will see as they attend our 10:30 Service.  Each usher provides a welcoming atmosphere, assists new people in finding child care, answers questions, and hands our bulletins.  In addition, they collect gifts and assist with communion during the Service.  To volunteer or get more information, contact Jonathan Clark (clarkjon1058@gmail.com or 757-289-9791).

• Sunday and Monday Counters

  Our Sunday Counters sort financial gifts received during our Sunday Services and take the bag to our bank (on upper Colley Ave.) for safe-keeping.  Our Monday Counters pick up the bag with financial gifts from the bank , count, record, and deposit the gifts at the bank.  To volunteer your time and talent, or get more information, contact our Church Financial Secretary, Lynn Ford (finance@larchmontumc.org or 757-489-8168).
