Randy was born in St. Louis, Missouri but was quickly relocated to Mechanicsville, Virginia where he grew up in the United Methodist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Religious Studies and Computer Science from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland and his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. Randy was just recently licensed as a local pastor but eagerly looks forward to continuing the process toward provisional and full membership in the Order of Elder.
Over the years, Randy has served in a variety of ministry settings, all of which have provided a wide heart for ministry. He has served as a short-term associate pastor for three different churches, as an intern for the Volunteers of America working with homeless veterans, as a camp counselor and chaplain for 7 years, and one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Duke Hospital.
Randy’s passion in ministry is to see people reach their full potential in their gifts and graces that God, through the Holy Spirit, has given them. Therefore, Randy loves getting to know new people and listening to their stories of how God has been working in and through them.
Randy and his wife, Stephanie, have been married since May of 2014. They enjoy playing games, getting to know people, walking around the neighborhood enjoying creation, and rooting for Duke Basketball and Cardinals Baseball.
